First formed in the summer of 2001 in Grand Bank Newfoundland, Canada. Dave Noseworthy, Damon Green and Chad Grandy had a chemistry that was evident from the start. All three members were equally respected musicians in their own right having made a name for themselves with earlier bands playing the Newfoundland and Labrador festival and bar circuits as well as playing regular stints on the island of Saint Pierre and Miquelon. (France).
Skidderpup released a self-produced and distributed Christmas cd entitled “Home for Christmas” in 2004 and another self-produced and distributed cd entitled “Skidderpup” in 2007. Skidderpup continued to perform while juggling day jobs and family lives over the next 16 years.
In October 2017 Skidderpup was invited to open a show for Swedish anti-pop group “The Magnettes” at the live music venue “Paddy’s Shed” in Burin, NL. In the audience was Peter Astedt, senior advisor/head of bookings for “Live at Heart” an annual international showcase festival that takes place in Orebro, Sweden. Impressed with what he saw he personally invited Skidderpup to be part of the festival in September 2018.
With a newfound wind in their sails, Skidderpup began writing new material and are now working on a new album. The bands Eclectic Rock sound is very versatile, with well crafted songs that pay homage to the great heartland rockers of the 70’s and 80’s.
They have a busy summer ahead playing numerous festivals and concerts throughout Newfoundland. In July, they get set to share the stage with Canadian rock legends “Trooper”, all while having their eyes set firmly on Sweden in September in hopes of branching out into the international market.
